This new edition by Falke Pisano (b.1978, The Netherlands) stems from the artist’s investigation into how mathematics can help people understand their relationship to the space they inhabit, and how it can provide a harmonious counterforce to the arbitrary control of public space. Related to her ongoing project, The Value in Mathematics, this new work commemorates the artist’s contribution to the 20th Biennale of Sydney: The future is already here - it’s just not evenly distributed, and her work for the associated publication, which was co-published by common-editions in March 2016.
